Razer will finally block the oxygen of the Ouya microconsole. The company announced that on June 25, support for online services for Ouya will cease and the store of the same name will close.

Razer will delete all accounts in the Ouya store, and it will no longer be possible to purchase games for the console. However, its owners will be able to play already downloaded games, but only if they do not require registration and confirmation of purchase.

Ouya is an Android—based microconsole developed by Ouya Inc. The money for its creation was collected on Kickstarter — and raised $ 8.5 million. Ouya turned out to be the fifth most funded project on this crowdfunding platform, writes Gamesindustry.biz .

Despite such a bright start of the project, the console did not win the love of a wide audience. In 2015, the Ouya project was recognized as a commercial failure, and Ouya Inc. itself was put up for auction. The buyer was Razer: it acquired the company and digital content for the console. But not hardware assets. That’s why the release of Ouya devices stopped at the same time.

It should be noted that Razer has announced a reorganization. For this reason, she closed another online gaming store in February – Razer Games Store.
