In the popular “three-in-a-row” Candy Crush Saga, the 2000th level appeared. This was reported by the authors of the game – studio King.
The level is a gift to the players. Thus, King celebrated a trillion gaming sessions in Candy Crush Saga. The new level is constantly available to everyone who has reached level 1999, and within the next seven days – to anyone who has passed beyond level 10.
“This is an incredibly significant event for us, as the number of sessions played has reached a trillion,” Sebastian Knutsson, King’s General Creative Director, shared with VentureBeat. “We launched this special 2000th level to celebrate and thank the fans of the game, and we hope that they will have as much fun playing as we had fun creating this level.”
In an interview with the BBC, Knutsson said that the main audience of the project is women after the age of 25, and that paying users on average leave $25 in the game every month.
In addition to the new level, King has published an infographic on the game. There, in addition to the figures already announced above, it is reported that Candy Crush Saga is played 18 million times a month around the world.
Candy Crush Saga was released in 2012. In 2015, the game came in first place in the list of the most downloaded games on iOS in the history of the App Store.
