The closure of HQ Trivia turned out to be premature. The company quickly found a new buyer after declaring bankruptcy.
On February 14, the developer of a quiz game with real prizes broke a deal to acquire it. She could have saved him from bankruptcy. The CEO Rus Yusupov had only to announce the demise of the company and the reduction of the entire staff of 25 people. Moreover, HQ Trivia no longer had the funds to pay severance payments to the dismissed and prize winners of the last quizzes.
Nevertheless, the company was saved at the last moment. Yusupov announced the beginning of the “second chapter” in its history. Over the weekend, he found HQ Trivia a “new home”, that is, a new buyer. The developer will continue to work — and first of all will pay severance payments, debts to contractors and players.
Yusupov also said that now the authors of the quiz will spend money more efficiently. And in general, the CEO of HQ Trivia is optimistic. Nevertheless, he did not name the new buyer. And the deal between them has not been closed yet.
Recall that HQ Trivia became bankrupt after a drop in revenues and installations of the project of the same name. The employees blamed the management, that is, Yusupov himself, for this. You can read more about the misadventures of HQ Trivia here.
