Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is a month old. During this time, players downloaded the geolocation game from Niantic 15 million times and spent $12 million in it. Within the genre, this launch in its release month is second only to Pokémon GO.
According to Sensor Tower analysts, Niantic’s Pokémon GO raised $300 million in its first month. Thus, she set the highest bar for Wizards Unite and other geolocation titles.
The Potterian game could not achieve the same success. But it bypassed the previous game number two in this genre. Now the yield rating looks like this:
- in the release month, Pokémon GO earned $300 million;
- Harry Potter: Wizards Unite — $12 million;
- Jurassic World Alive — $10.3 million;
- The Walking Dead: Our World — $3.9 million;
- Ghostbusters World — $200 thousand.
Wizards Unite also turned out to be the second most downloaded geolocation game:
- in the release month, Pokémon GO installations reached 182 million;
- Harry Potter: Wizards Unite — 15 million;
- Jurassic World Alive — 6.5 million;
- The Walking Dead: Our World — 1.6 million;
- Ghostbusters World — 1.2 million
Despite the fact that Harry Potter: Wizards Unite contains more AR elements than Pokémon GO, the first is unlikely to be able to surpass the second in cash or downloads. Wizards Unite probably won’t be able to even get close to the metrics of the Pokemon hit.
Note that now the Niantic novelty is available in 42 countries, but not in Russia.
