The final publication of 2024, where we sum up the year, express our gratitude, and, of course, wish you all the best!
Another year is behind us. It was swift, filled with challenges and bright events. For example, we held two major conferences in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
Still in awe at the number of amazing indie developers currently working in Russia. Altogether, around 200 teams participated in our events!
I hope that in the coming year — or in a year or two, depending on the release dates — many of them will make their mark on the international market as well.
Specifically regarding our editorial outcomes, I’d like to note that this year was very active. Over 1,800 pieces were published on App2Top over 12 months. Far from just news.
For example, we launched two new sections with varying success — “Investor/Publisher Wanted” and “Profession,” and actively published “Round Tables.”
Together with WN Academy, we also started releasing a podcast once a month called “What’s Up with the Game,” where we critically examine major releases with professional developers.
However, we didn’t manage to accomplish everything we wanted content-wise. For example, we postponed the publication of the salary study and a large piece on the state of domestic media to 2025.
On the other hand, the current results in the number of interviews are breaking records. If we published 48 interviews in 2023, for 2024, we’ll have at least 60 pieces.
I highly recommend paying attention to these interviews. They provide insight into what is happening in all segments of the Russian-speaking gaming industry.
