Grand Theft Auto V turned out to be the best-selling game in the United States over the past ten years. The title was released in September 2013.
This is reported by Gamesindustry.biz with reference to NPD Group analysts. Sales of the game in the American market turned out to be record in monetary terms. The exact amount, however, is not called.
In addition, Rockstar managed to sell 115 million copies of GTA V worldwide. This is more than the sales of all previous GTA parts combined. The last 5 million copies of GTA V players purchased from May 2019 to November 2019. NPD did not provide more recent data on sales of the game.
Such results are partly explained by the fact that many players purchased the game twice by switching to a new generation of consoles.
