Electronic Arts acquired Industrial Toys studio, specializing in the development of mobile games for gamers (for enthusiastic players – approx.). The studio was founded by Alex Seropian, who participated in the development of the Halo, Myth and Marathon game series.
Seropyan founded the studio in 2012, when he left Disney Interactive. Although the studio is already six years old, it has so far released only the Midnight Star shooter for iOS and its sequel Midnight Star: Renegade. The games cannot be called at least somewhat successful.
Industrial Toys employs 14 people, they will join EA Worldwide Studios, which develops games for different platforms.
The purchase amount is not announced, but in any case, the question remains why EA needed this acquisition. It seems that, first of all, the company was attracted by the opportunity to get an experienced Seropyan into its composition, and that, in turn, needs resources for new projects.
