After 22 years of work, James Ohlen left BioWare. He was the lead designer of both Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Olen also worked on the Dragon Age series, and now he has taken up board role-playing games.
Olen joined the company in its second year of existence. Initially, he worked as a tester and screenwriter for the Shattered Steel simulator, and eventually became one of the most important designers of Bioware.
He announced his decision to leave on Twitter: “After 22 years, I’m leaving BioWare. I loved my work on Anthem, Star Wars, Dragon Age and Dungeons and Dragons. But I need to take a break from the industry and work on smaller and more personal projects.”
After 22 years I have retired from BioWare. I’ve loved my time with Anthem, Star Wars, Dragon Age and Dungeons and Dragons. But I need to take a break from the industry and work on something a little smaller and more personal.
