According to the venture fund Creandum, 9% of the world’s largest corporations producing software or games are located in the northern part of Europe.
The authors of the study include Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland to the northern part of Europe. They claim that despite the fact that the population of these countries is only 3% of the population of Europe, it is there that a large number of companies with billions in annual revenue are being created – the so-called “unicorns”. As an example, Creandum is called Skype, Spotify, Supercell, MySQL, Unity, Mojang, Zendesk, King, and so on.

In addition, 11% of the largest venture funds in Europe come from the northern part of Europe.
Despite the fact that large companies often “leave” for the United States and other countries after mergers and acquisitions – 34% of “unicorns” still remain in the North.
