Former Epic Games game designer Cliff Bleszinski told Destructoid in an interview why he left the gaming industry in 2012.
Almost three years ago, Blesinski left Epic Games, where he worked on the Unreal, Unreal Tournament and Gears of War series of games. Then he did not go into details and explained his departure by fatigue.
After a while, Blesinski returned to the profession and talked about what prompted him to leave. In an interview with Destructoid, he shared that fatigue was caused not only and not so much by work experience in the industry. I was tired of my colleagues’ approach to games. “Towards the end of my work at Epic, it was like this: I could lay out some kind of the coolest idea and hear in response, “I don’t need it.” I don’t want to offend anyone, but this business makes people jaded,” he said.
Let’s add that at the moment Blesinski has opened his own studio Boss Key Productions and is developing the game LawBreakers.
