According to the Finnish association Neogames, over the past two years, the number of game developers in the country has grown by 16%.
The share of foreigners among them also increased — by 75% at once.

Finnish game dev still needs experienced specialists, Hiltunen also said. In the coming years, about 500 jobs will be created in Finnish game studios in total.

Hiltunen also noted that the Finnish games earn over €2 billion a year.
But the number of games published annually, according to Gamasutra, has dropped to an average of 100. Previously, Finnish studios launched 150-200 new titles a year, but now they are more focused on supporting existing games. As a result, only five of the 30 largest studios in Finland were able to release new games in 2018.
