Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick shared his view on the future of video games. According to him, the next 30-40 years will be “the most exciting” for the industry.
During his speech at the UBS Global TMT virtual conference, Zelnik said that he looks at the future of the industry with optimism. He is confident that technological progress, the constant growth of the audience, along with several other factors, will lead to “bright” and “exciting” decades.
The head of Take-Two paid special attention to the development of graphics in games.
Some of what we're doing now already looks very authentic, but it's still animation. In 10 years you will be able to create things that will look as realistic as possible. And this is only with the help of a computer. Not to mention what opportunities will be available thanks to other technologies.

Among the other possible trends of the future, Zelnik highlighted the growth of sociality in games and a mix of traditional gameplay with elements familiar to other media. All this should lead to large-scale shifts in the gaming business, but “many of them cannot be fully predicted yet.”
