On March 10, Activision Blizzard launched a free battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone. During the first day, its audience exceeded 6 million players.

The publisher told about it in his Twitter. He did not specify exactly how the players were distributed across the PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms. How many of them play through Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and how many — through a separate client, is also not reported.

With such a result, Warzone promises to become the fastest growing “royal battle” in just a day. According to PCGamesN, the audience of the title may reach 10 million players in the near future. For comparison:

  • In the first day, 2.5 million people visited Apex Legends from EA and Respawn. The title collected 10 million players in 3 days.
  • Fortnite has reached 1 million players in the first 24 hours. The game took the 10 million bar in two weeks.

Call of Duty: Warzone quickly rose on Twitch. According to The Loadout counter, already in the first hour it gathered 357 thousand viewers. A few hours later, their number almost reached 500 thousand.

It will be interesting to compare the results of Warzone on Twitch with Apex Legends. The game from Respawn was the first in the history of the service to top the top 10 most viewed titles in the release month. Its audience maximum for 30 days reached 657 thousand people.

Recall that Call of Duty: Warzone launched just a day after the announcement (almost as fast as Apex Legends). You can read more about its modes and mechanics in our material. Obviously, Warzone has a chance to take the lead in the niche of battle royals. This is indicated by both its instant growth and an extremely strong brand.
