Activision Blizzard has taken on serious cuts. The company is closing a branch in Versailles, France, where about 400 people worked at the beginning of 2019.

According to Bloomberg, citing anonymous sources, initially the American publisher planned to move half of the employees to London. But the plans had to be canceled due to Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is unclear how many people will be laid off and how many will be able to move to another office. However, we note that according to French labor law, employers will be required to pay significant compensation to employees who will fall under massive layoffs.

Activision Blizzard does not refuse to help employees of the Versailles branch.

Blizzard France management informed subordinates about the reorganization. The support of our employees in this process is the number one priority. We are already working on various processes. The next meeting on this topic is scheduled for October 13 and 14.

The publisher has previously reported on large-scale layoffs in France. Last year, Activision Blizzard cut 134 employees out of 400. In addition, in 2020, the company closed its Dutch office in The Hague.
