The success of the Fallout Shelter game will not force Bethesda to “stamp” mobile projects one by one. Pete Hines, Vice president of Marketing and PR, said this in an interview with IGN.

The project for mobile will appear only if it is appropriate.

The company is not going to release a mobile game for the sake of the process itself. If the project comes out, it will only complement the existing titles, just as Fallout Shelter complements the Fallout console series.

“We won’t release a new mobile game every time we make a [console] game… that’s not why Fallout Shelter turned out cool. People like it when the game doesn’t try to put their hand in their wallet. We have done such monetization that it does not annoy users,” Hines said. He added that if Bethesda puts mobile projects on stream, this approach will have to be abandoned.

Recall that the Fallout Shelter time manager was released in mid-June on iOS. The game about a post-apocalyptic shelter immediately hit the tops of the App Store in all key markets. According to Hines, Fallout Shelter was made “not for the money”, but collected $5.1 million in the first two weeks. The creators of the title, however, were sure that success would not last long. And so it happened.
