There will be no award for “Best Mobile Game” at the next annual British Academy Games Awards.
Florence is the latest winner in the nomination “Best mobile game” according to BAFTA
The British Academy of Cinematographic and Television Arts (BAFTA) has decided to change some of the game nominations.
So she expects to simplify the awarding procedure, writes Pocket Gamer.
Mobile games can be nominated and have already become laureates in a variety of categories. Moreover, the nomination “Best Mobile Game” remained the last one tied to a specific platform. Therefore, the academy excluded her — but at the same time retained the “Mobile Game of the Year” award sponsored by the EE organization.
This is only the most noticeable change in the nominations. But there are others:
- instead of the prize for the best innovations, there will now be a new prize — for the best technical achievements;
- the nomination “Best Animation” has been introduced in addition to the already existing “Best Achievements in the field of Art”.
- instead of one award for the best role, two will now be given out: for the main role and for the minor one. Recall that both voice actors and motion capture actors can participate in this nomination.
The award ceremony will be held on April 2, 2020. Applications are open until December 13.
