If the game is removed from the App Store, the user who bought it earlier will most likely not be able to download it again.
Fans of a number of iOS games have noticed that after the disappearance of their favorite titles from the shelves of the App Store, they disappeared from the purchase history. In other words, players, including those who had previously paid substantial money for a particular product, were denied access to the product.
TouchArcade journalists were the first to pay attention to the problem. According to their investigation, such projects included:
- Bioshock by 2K Games
- Ghost Trick by Capcome
- Dead Space by Electronic Arts
Yesterday it also became known about the removal of a number of Telltale Games projects. They can still be purchased using the purchase history, but, for example, IAPs in them (including those for which users previously paid) cannot be used.
2K Games, Capcome and Telltale Games have already reacted to what happened. These companies promise to return them to the App Store after making some changes to the games (for example, solving a significant audio bug in The Walking Dead on iOS 9).
But, for example, the authors of Tweetbot even found a solution to the bug. In order for the game to be available for download through the purchase history, you must leave it active in any one region. For example, in Burkina Faso.
The same fact that games are removed from the purchase history may well be the result of a flaw in iOS 9, which, although it turned out to be much more stable than the original iOS 8, but still not devoid of errors.
Another question is whether Apple is going to fix this bug?
