Beeline subscribers will now be able to pay for purchases in the Apple App Store, iTunes and Apple Music subscriptions from their phone account.
The information was shared by the head of Beeline, Mikhail Slobodin, on his Facebook account.
According to Slobodin, the service is introduced for the security of user data and convenience: “No one remembers their bank card number and not everyone wants to give it right and left, even if it’s Apple. Someone doesn’t even have a bank card at all. And I want to use the best world service.”
Slobodin calls the service exclusive and informs that it is provided by only two operators. These are the German O2 and the Russian Beeline.
CNBC believes that Beeline will charge a commission of 10-30% of the payment amount for the service. For Apple, this may mean an increase in the number of paying Russian audience, since it is easier for the user to make a purchase from a mobile phone without connecting a card.
Official confirmations from Beeline or Apple have not yet been received, but there is already a corresponding option in the App Store account.
Note that a similar service for the Google Play store is provided by all key Russian telecom operators, including Beeline.
