The analytical company App Annie presented the top Chinese mobile games, segmented by spending by foreign users for the first quarter of 2020.
There are two royal battles in the top ten. On the first-prize — PUBG Mobile. Its continued success can be explained by the fact that the publisher Tencent last year seriously worked on the game: introduced new monetization mechanics into it (for example, battle passes) and updated its development strategy.
Another battle royale — Knives Out — is in third place. A very successful project in Japan is still not able to compete with the size of the PUBG brand.
The remaining positions in the top are divided between strategies and role-playing games. However, Arknights deserves special attention. This project in the tower defense genre behaved very aggressively in marketing terms in the first quarter. And here is the result.
