The analytical company App Annie shared the results of June for the mobile gaming industry. Puzzle & Dragons suddenly came out in second place in terms of revenue – thanks to in-game events.

The title of the Japanese company GungHo took the second place in terms of revenue in the world chart – despite the fact that almost all of the game’s revenue comes from Japanese users. App Annie analysts attribute this rise to the Player’s Choice Godfest event.

The event took place from May 31 to June 3. The event is held several times a year and is similar to another one – Godfest. During this event, players can get exclusive characters. There is no guarantee that it will be possible to buy this particular hero, since money only buys the opportunity to play Egg Machine (gacha). And then the machine itself determines which character the player received. Choice Godfest gives players the same opportunity to play gacha, only the heroes that can fall out in the Egg Machine are pre-determined by the users themselves by voting.

There are also two interesting news in the world top 10 in terms of revenue. Firstly, Clash of Clans continues to lose ground and has shifted one more point down. And secondly, another Supercell blockbuster – Clash Royale – fell from second place to eighth.

According to downloads this month, everything is more or less the same. The title from indie developer Steven Hosie (Steven Howse) is in the lead – slither.io . This minimalistic MMO about glowing snakes is in first place in the world top for the third month.

From a relatively new one, Temple Run 2 entered the top 10 for downloads. The game from Imangi is not a beginner in the top ten – it appears in the world download charts, then disappears. Perhaps the increase in downloads is the result of a large update from June 1, during which a new location was added.

The top 10 leading companies in terms of revenue are also not surprised by anything special. Tencent, Machine Zone and Supercell are in the first places in terms of revenue. Each of these companies moved within one or two points (Supercell, for example, fell down by 2). In addition, GungHo entered the top ten thanks to the event described above. The company is in 7th place.

The situation in the top for downloads is more interesting: Vivendi (which, we recall, recently completed a hostile takeover of Gameloft) took the first place. In addition, a new actor appeared in the top ten: publisher and developer from the Netherlands VascoGames.
