During the first quarter of this year, 1.9 million tablets were sold in Russia, MTS analysts estimated. This is 56.6% more than in the same period last year.
The share of A-brands — major global manufacturers like Samsung and Apple — decreased from 51% to 37%. The share of small manufacturers (B-brands) increased from 45% to 60% over the year. The reason is that B-brands are represented in low price segments (up to 10 thousand rubles), due to which the tablet market is currently growing most actively.
In monetary terms, the Russian market of “tablets” has grown by 20.2% and now amounts to 19.6 billion rubles.
It is noteworthy that the revenue share of budget devices has risen from 22% to 40%.
