China will launch a local analogue of Twitch – a streaming video service called Panda TV. This is reported by the VentureBeat resource with reference to information from the Weibo microblogging site.
The CEO of the project will be Wang Sicong, a local media star and the son of the richest man in China, Wang Jianlin.
Panda TV company, according to the QQ Tech resource, was registered back in June. However, the exact launch date of the service has not yet been announced.
Let’s add that the number of fans of online games in China is 408 million. They spend an average of $17.6 billion a year on games, according to the South China Morning Post.
Wang Janlin is the owner of AMC Entertainment and Wanda Cinemas. The total revenue of these two media corporations in 2014 amounted to $40 billion.
