Starting October 7, 2026, Google advertising services will no longer allow content related to online gambling aimed at residents of Croatia. The corporation announced this upcoming policy change in its blog.
From this date, Google will revoke all active certifications from advertisers in the online gambling sector in Croatia and will stop accepting new applications for certifications.
Restrictions will not impact offline gambling advertisements.
These changes come amidst wider bans in the country. On January 1, 2026, the Croatian government imposed restrictions on promoting gambling, including a ban on advertising gambling from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM on the internet, television, and radio. Additionally, advertising in print media and on billboards has been prohibited. However, Google emphasizes that it acted independently in making this decision.
