The softlonch of the game Mountain Goat Mountain from Zynga took place. In it, the company develops a new minimalistic gameplay for itself.
The project is another attempt by Zynga to gain a foothold somewhere other than gambling. Prior to that, the studio created a release runner for the Looney Tunes franchise, match-3 based on Farmville and relaunched its Empires & Allies strategy on mobile. It can be assumed that the reason for such creative searches was the unsuccessful restart of the company’s flagship card game Zynga Poker and the subsequent loss of audience.
The main character of the game is a cartoon mountain goat. The user will be offered to travel through the mountains, jump from top to top, avoid falling stones, logs and other dangers. Each new peak will be decorated in a certain style – from the Wild West to virtual reality.
Visually, the game is somewhat reminiscent of Crossy Road. The same cubic minimalism, but more detailed.
The goat can be dressed in different hats, and we think the game will be monetized due to them. It reminds us again of Crossy Road, where for real money the player gets access to unique characters.
The game will be distributed under a shareware model. So far, it has been launched on iOS in the Philippines and in New Zealand. The date of appearance in the world stores is unknown.
