The cooperative survival about Vikings Valheim became the leader of sales on Steam, and the peak online game exceeded 130 thousand users. This is despite the fact that the title appeared in the early access store less than a week ago.
The official date of the “early” release of Valheim is February 2, 2021. At first, the project was not very popular with Steam users. According to Steam Charts, up to February 5, the number of simultaneous Valheim players did not exceed 30 thousand people.
The rapid growth began last Saturday and continues to this day. At midnight from Sunday to Monday, the peak of the online title reached the mark of 130.4 thousand players.
Yesterday, the new product took the first place in the global Steam Sales Leaders chart and still holds this position. In the Russian segment, Valheim now occupies the second line, second only to Nioh 2.
Valheim was developed by Iron Gate Studio and published by Coffee Stain Publishing. The game takes place in the afterlife for the Vikings who died in battle. Once there, the user learns that purgatory has been invaded by the creatures of chaos and the ancient enemies of the Scandinavian gods. You can play both in single and multiplayer mode. Valheim is currently available only on PC, but the developers do not exclude the appearance of a console version.
