The minimalistic Two Dots game from publisher Playdots Inc has been downloaded 30 million times. The project has earned more than $15 million in a year since its launch.
On the occasion of the round figure, the authors of the game shared an infographic.
The title Two Dots became a continuation of Dots from the same publisher. The games were released at intervals of a year. Dots appeared in April 2013, and Two Dots appeared in May 2014. From the point of view of gameplay, both projects are similar: you need to connect the dots and move forward on the map.
Both games showed similar results. Dots has gained 20 million downloads in 12 months, not 30 million like Two Dots. Both users have played about 5 million times.
Now the authors of Two Dots are planning to adapt it for the Chinese audience.
In an interview with TechCrunch, representatives of Playdots said that the company has so far “shelved” about six different games. This is done in order to concentrate on supporting Two Dots. Nevertheless, the company will release at least one game during 2015.
It is not yet known whether the new game will be a continuation of the series or will be completely original.
Recall that the company Playdots at the end of last year received $ 10 million for development from the Chinese corporation Tencent and a number of other investors.
