The first project of the independent Yaroslavl studio Tigrido – a strategy about the management of the “banana republic” – will be released on the App Store next week.
Mobile games do not bypass politics. Projects dedicated to this or that resonant event are regularly published in the App Store and Google Play: there were games about Snowden, about the “Umbrella Revolution“, even about events in Ukraine. Most of them are not good, worthy of attention.
But there are exceptions. One of the main ones until recently was “Democracy” from Minsk NeskinSoft. It is quite possible that very soon she will be accompanied by a “Dictator” from Yaroslavl Tigrido.
With the genre orientation of the project, everything is difficult. One of the games closest to him in gameplay is “Bum“, which the authors from OKApps call “homeless simulator”. By analogy, we would call a “dictator” a “simulator of the head of an authoritarian state.”
Each action in the game takes one conditional day. A certain amount is debited from the treasury every day. As soon as the money runs out, the game ends. It is filled with only one way: “love” for the ruler of a particular gaming faction.
The last six pieces. And, in fact, everything is built around them. Every day the player must receive a representative of one of the factions. For example, taking a representative of human rights defenders, the player is offered to “prohibit whipping suspects on the heels during interrogations.” The player must either agree to this or refuse. The agreement will raise the rating (it is measured in crosses) among human rights defenders, but, for example, it will lower the attitude towards you among the oligarchs, the police and the family clan. The opposite is also true. The lower the rating, the more likely the risk of conspiracy. But a very high rating among one or another group begins to make money.
We liked the project, although from the point of view of monetization everything is ambiguous here. The game will have a free version with truncated functionality (three fractions instead of six), you can also buy “tips”, in fact, the real cheats that allow you to make decisions that do not harm reputation. The latter deprives the game of any competitive moment, because by pouring money into the game, you can endlessly twist your rating. But here it should be noted that I did not play the final version of the game. The developers say that they changed the last moment, they will not be able to wind up the rating indefinitely.
The game should be released very soon – on December 11.
