On April 16, the first official Clash Royale championship was held in Finland. The stream on YouTube was watched by more than 1.3 million people.
Such an event was the first such experience for Supercell. Considering that in a couple of days they managed to watch the stream from the event more than 1.3 times, we can talk about the success of the undertaking. For comparison, in September, Vainglory’s audience on Twitch reached 1 million unique viewers.
The event was open. Everyone could participate. As a result, the number of participants was about 200 people.
Supercell itself announced the event as a kind of test, a trial of ideas, which then, perhaps, will be implemented in future events of this kind (as well as a rollout of the rules, logistics and how the broadcast is conducted).
