The tactical role-playing game about Vikings from Stoic Studio will get mobile versions for tablets based on iOS, Android and Windows RT.

Recall that Stoic is an independent Canadian studio formed by three former employees of BioWare. They raised money for their first project, The Banner Saga tactical strategy, using the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform. In the spring of 2012, fans of the team gave more than $ 700 thousand to the project.

A year later, in February 2013, the shareware The Banner Saga: Factions, which did not gain much popularity, was released. It was a multiplayer version of the upcoming full-fledged game. It took Stoic another year to complete the initially announced project. In January 2014, The Banner Saga was released on PC.

It is difficult to judge the cult status of the project today, but on Metacritic the game today has a rating of 80 points out of 100. It is also difficult to discuss the cash results of the project. In any case, the desire to transfer a beautiful turn-based game to new platforms is an understandable decision, especially against the background of the fact that other stars of the indie scene, like FTL and Broken Age, are already here.

The game will be published by Versus Evil, which will be released this summer.
