Pixel Toys Studio and Games Workshop will release a game based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe. A game called Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade will appear on mobile devices this fall.
The game developers are the British Pixel Toys team. They debuted on the mobile market a year ago with the Gunfinger shooter. The new game they are preparing in collaboration with Games Workshop is in the same genre. Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, judging by the trailer, is a shooter with traditional RPG elements for the franchise. The player will be offered to complete mission after mission in order to stop the alien invaders. Along the way, he will be able to pump weapons and, in part, his own character.
The genre of the new game may set it apart from a series of projects in the Warhammer 40,000 franchise. Recall that most of the recent board game projects from Games Workshop are turn-based strategies.
Let’s add that, according to the developers, they owe the opportunity to release a new game to their previous project, Gunfinger. He turned out to be financially successful. “Every penny earned on the game, we reinvested in the creation of Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade,” says co-founder and CEO of Pixel Toys Andy Wafer in an interview with Develop Online.
The project will appear on iOS. The developers do not name the release date on Android.
