The developers of one of the highest-grossing (if not the highest-grossing) mobile games have released a new project. Arnold Schwarzenegger became the face of the novelty.
One of the highest-grossing companies on the mobile market – Machine Zone – has released a new game. A new division of the California company, Epic War studio, acted as developers and publishers of the project.
The novelty is called Mobile Strike and it is a clone of Game of War in a modern militaristic setting. In other words, if earlier players built Roman legionnaires with dies or spears, now tanks and helicopters will be stamped instead.
The project looks archaic by modern standards (and do not look at the drawn screenshots in the stores). If Gameloft and Plarium are now trying to modernize the genre of hardcore time managers, offering new combat mechanics and good graphics, improving the interface, then Machine Zone acts as if its audience does not need it at all. And, quite possibly, it really is.
The face of the new game, or rather its advertising campaign, was Arnold Schwarzenegger, whom Machine Zone CEO Gabe Leydon called a team partner and the personification of the game.
Mobile Strike is the first Machine Zone project since the release of Game of War in 2013.
