This month, the title Down the Mountain from the indie team Umbrella is being prepared for release. The game will be released on iOS and Android this month.
The creators of the game were inspired by Crossy Road. From visual style to mechanics, Down the Mountain resembles the game of the Australian Hipster Whale studio. The main difference is that the character should not cross the road, but go down the hill.
The monetization scheme, judging by the trailer, will be the same as in the “ideological mastermind” – for real money, the player will be offered a set of unique characters.
Recall that the title Crossy Road appeared at the end of last year and immediately won the tops of the charts in Google Play and the App Store. The game about creatures crossing the road has earned several million dollars in a short time – not least thanks to well-thought-out monetization. The success of the project has generated a wave of imitators.
The Umbrella developer has only one game in his portfolio so far – this is a minimalistic Boom Dots, where the player needs to hit one ball over another at speed.
