The California studio Supergiant Games announced the development of a new project – the adventure role-playing game Pyre.
The novelty has nothing to do with the two previous titles. The company that created the original and memorable worlds of Bastion and Transistor continues to invent new universes and mechanics.
Pyre is a party RPG in which the player leads a gang of adventurers wandering through purgatory. The main character must pass a test, thanks to which he and his companions are granted forgiveness of sins.
Despite the distinct religious overtones, Supergiant Games’ vision of the world of shadows is original. The same applies to combat mechanics, visually unlike most of our acquaintances. According to the first video, it is only clear that each fight will take place in small arenas and, most likely, in real time.
Pyre will be released in 2017. So far, the game has been announced only for PlayStation 4 and Steam, but, most likely, it will appear on mobile devices. Its predecessors can be found on the App Store today.
