The third part of the cult quest series by Benoit Sokal it will be released on iOS and Android next year, according to the publication AppSpy.
Fans of the franchise have been waiting for the continuation of the game since the release of the second Syberia 2 in 2004. Sokal himself was in no hurry to make a trilogy out of the dilogy. Maybe it’s for the best, because after leaving Microïds after the publication of the second part, the French artist and screenwriter did not create anything decent except Sinking Island.
AppSpy has published screenshots from the working version of the game. And they, frankly, cause sadness. At this stage, the game does not look much better than the first part, which, recall, was released in January 2002.
For the first time, plans for the development of the game became known in November 2012. Then the French publisher Anuman Interactive, who bought Microïds (Amerzone, Syberia, Post Mortem, Still Life) a few years ago, announced an agreement with Benoit to create a third part. They promised that Elliot Grassiano, who not only stood at the origins of Microïds, but also headed it during its heyday, would look after the development.
Anuman Interactive is a French publisher and distributor of games. In 2010, the company acquired another large studio – Microïds, which was responsible for the creation of Still Life, Syberia and Dracula.
