The Steam team has compiled lists with the most successful games for 2022. Elden Ring, Stray and V Rising were noted among the box office novelties.

In total, Steam has compiled six lists with games.
Important: the games in these collections are arranged in random order, and their exact indicators are not disclosed. When compiling the lists, Steam evaluated the results of projects in the period from January 1 to December 18, 2022.
Sales Leaders
There are 100 games in the list. Steam divided them into four categories, depending on how much the projects earned by December 18: “platinum”, “gold”, “silver” and “bronze”.
The category of “platinum” bestsellers this year included both old-timers of the top like Dota 2 and CS:GO, as well as new items like Elden Ring, Monster Hunter: Rise and Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. It is noteworthy that GTA V, which has consistently received platinum for the previous six years, has now taken gold.
The best novelties
Steam has included 50 games in the list of new products, whose release in the Valve store took place in 2022. It included titles that earned more than all the others in two weeks from the moment of release.
The most popular games
Steam added games here, whose online in 2022 exceeded 40 thousand people (but the store did not take into account the sharp jumps in online projects against the background of sales or free weekends). There are 90 such games in total. The largest number of simultaneous users — over 240 thousand people — could boast of 12 games, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, ARK: Survival Evolved and Goose Goose Duck.
The best games released from Early Access in 2022
There are 48 games in this list that were released from early access in 2022. At the same time, their revenue was counted both before and after the official release.
The highest-grossing VR games
Steam also listed the bestsellers among virtual reality games. Note that the store took into account only those games that were developed specifically for VR headsets. Games in which the VR function is not the main one were not included in the list. There are 49 projects in total in the list.
The category of “platinum” VR bestsellers almost entirely consists of games that were released before 2022. There are only two new products in it: BONELAB and Zenith: The Last City.
The most popular games for Steam Deck
The results of the Steam year could not do without games for the Steam Deck laptop computer. Steam has included 50 projects with the largest daily active audience in this collection. Among the “platinum” titles were, for example, Hades, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Persona 5 Royal.
