Last Friday, the Japanese company announced Crazy Taxi: City Rush, a mobile sequel to the original game, which is being created with an eye to modern gaming standards.
The key idea, judging by the video presented by Sega, has not undergone significant changes in the new game. The player, as before, will have to transport passengers around a huge city for a while. However, the developers abandoned the previous management. The player will have to “steer” the car with swipes, as, for example, in Temple Run.
The project will be distributed free of charge. There will be two currencies in the game: non–convertible – dollars received for completing tasks, and convertible – crystals, which, most likely, can only be purchased for real money.
The “soft” currency will be used to buy new drivers, cars, improvements for them, musical themes, and “crystals” will be used to instantly fill the tank with gasoline (one “division” is spent on completing each task of tasks – replacing a more traditional “heart”).
Players will also be able to compete with friends if they log in to the game via Facebook.
The project is being developed by the creator of the original games Kenji Kanno (Kenji Kanno) together with Hardlight Studios, responsible for Sonic Dash, a colorful clone of Subway Surfers.
P.S. In honor of the announcement of the new game, the mobile version of the classic Crazy Taxi has become free.
