Today there are three good projects in our collection – Dungeon Hunter V, Angry Birds Stella POP! and Sid Meier’s Starships.
Dungeon Hunter V
Despite the fact that the game was released only today, we had access to the project about a week ago. During this time, we managed to get well acquainted with the game created in the Montreal division of Gameloft.
Dungeon Hunter V is an adult-looking and well-played short-session Diablo, whose monetization is almost entirely modeled on Japanese card battlers. At this stage, there are some problems with the UI (there are a lot of types of maps and resources, it’s not always comfortable to operate with them), but it seems to me that this is just the cash blockbuster that the company has been missing for the last year and a half.

Angry Birds Stella POP!
Rovio has finally released into the world of Angry Birds Stella POP, whose soft release took place back in December last year. The project is, in fact, a clone of Bubble Witch Saga 2, adjusted for the setting. The gameplay of the game boils down to shooting colored balls from a slingshot at blocks of the same colored balls on which pigs are sitting. The task is to break all the blocks under the pigs.
The game looks much more budget-friendly than the level at which Finns usually work, but, in general, it looks decent.
Sid Meier’s Starships
We have already written about the game today, but in connection with its price, and not directly about the project itself.
Sid Meier’s Starships is a great game about positional warfare, in which you need to build and hold an empire with the help of a single space fleet. A nice bonus is a fast tactical combat mode.
Conceptually, the project fits perfectly into the framework of a simple desktop, like Carcassonne. Clear rules, fast gameplay. And in this context, of course, it is by no means worth comparing the game with the “Civilization” series.
By the way, this may be the reason for the numerous negative reviews of the game on Steam. The players were not mentally prepared for the fact that Sid would offer them a concise product.
