Last week, a new “Saga” from King was released in the App Store and Google Play. What you should pay attention to in it is in our little material.

Релиз дня - Farm Heroes Super Saga

The novelty, as you might guess from the name, is a continuation of Farm Heroes Saga, released on mobile in early January 2014. The game develops the ideas that formed the basis of the first part.

One of the main features of the previous game, we recall, was that long combinations of gems (here fruits or vegetables) did not give additional entities on the field (no bombs or lightning) a multiplier to the remaining gems on the field.

For example, when drawing up a line consisting of four or more gems, the gems surrounding this line received an additional value. When you removed them from the field, the game counted each not for one gem, but for several.

This feature is preserved in Farm Heroes Super Saga. The main innovation in the basic mechanics came down to the fact that it is now possible to make rows of gems standing “two by two”. As a result, a large gem is obtained, which gives significantly more gems of a certain type than the usual one at the next compilation.

There are four basic modes in the game (within which traditional chocolate, ice, and so on can meet).

  • Growth – the player must collect the required number of fruits in a certain number of moves.
  • Wind is the same mode, which is complicated by the fact that new gems fall in the direction in which you swipe. Cool and original feature.
  • Nut is another interesting mode that works in conjunction with the previous two. There is a nut and a squirrel on the level. The player’s task is to bring, combining three-in-a-row fruits and vegetables, nuts to protein or vice versa.
  • Hay – combat mechanics. Darwin the raccoon comes running, throws cans on the field. When the gems are combined next to the jar, the latter flies back to Darwin. When the health of the latter reaches zero, you win.

Farm Heroes Super Saga is played fresh. There were not so many clones of the original, and the new modes (first of all, Wind and Nut) give the impression that King’s novelty is one of those “three-in-a-row” where logic plays a little more important than usual.

I also really want to pay attention to the gorgeous animation of the heroes of the game at the end of the levels. After the twentieth time, the dogs running straight at the player, marking the successful completion of the mission, begin to bother, but the first sessions look impressive.

Of the curious solutions, it is also worth noting the strip on the right edge of the level selection screen, which marks the progress of friends by the total number of stars. An additional motivator (a map with progress is also in place). I really liked the opportunity to grow my own plant. The more stars collected, the more it grew. This moment also encourages repeated passage.

In my opinion, there are three disadvantages:

  1. an unsuccessful playing field (detailed green pears and yellow bananas do not look very good on an equally detailed and the same color playing field);
  2. since there are no additional game entities from combinations, the player does not receive explosions of any objects after completing the level that would give him a couple of extra points (you can’t get used to this for a long time after similar projects in the genre);
  3. the tutorial does not cover a number of game aspects (for example, why sometimes big gems explode by themselves).

And you have already played a novelty from King, what do you think?
