GTA V has received a flurry of low ratings and negative reviews from Steam users after publisher Take-Two Interactive shut down the OpenIV mod editor.
OpenIV gave enthusiasts access to the resources of GTA IV, GTA V and Max Payne 3. On June 14, Take-Two Interactive achieved the closure of the project from the creator of OpenIV.
According to the copyright holders, OpenIV “allowed third parties to circumvent the protective measures of the software owner and modify its code in violation of Take-Two’s intellectual property.”
After the news about the liquidation of OpenIV spread online, the community attacked the GTA V rating in Steam with a stream of negativity. During the day on June 16, the game received more than 16 thousand negative reviews.

The developer of OpenIV is a programmer and game developer from Nizhny Novgorod Yuri Krivoruchko (known online as GooD-NTS) on the official GTA V forum denied the accusations of Take-Two, but agreed with the editor’s ban because he did not want to start a lawsuit with the company.
