This year, PUBG: New State, the sequel to the famous battle royale in a futuristic setting, will be released on mobile platforms. The project is being developed not by Tencent, but by the authors of the original game.
The action of PUBG: New State will unfold in 2051 on the new map “Troy” (Troi). The developers promise to add new futuristic weapons and equipment like drones and deployable shields to the game.
The authors also plan to diversify the gameplay mechanics of PUBG, adding to the game the ability to modify weapons right during the battle.
Unlike the mobile version of PUBG, PUBG: New State is not developed by Tencent, but PUBG Studio — the authors of the original version of the game for PC and consoles. The studio promises that the project will feature “ultra-realistic graphics that will push the boundaries of mobile gaming.”
PUBG: New State will be released this year on iOS and Android. Pre-registration has already opened on Google Play.
Last year, PUBG Mobile faced a number of problems, including banning the project in India. Despite this, it became the most profitable mobile game of 2020, earning almost $2.6 billion.
