Today, Playrix has officially announced the worldwide release of a new game. For the first time in a long time, it’s not three-in-a-row. The novelty is called Manor Matters. This is a free-play game in the genre of “hidden object” (hidden object).
Manor Matters
The release marks two things.
Firstly, the company’s return to one of the mechanics that it actively resorted to before it began producing free-play blockbusters. Recall that the Gardenscapes series was originally a series of hiddens.
Secondly, the launch of the launches of games that were developed by the acquired studios. According to Playrix itself in a press release, “Manor Matters is the first project of the studio Voki Games, acquired by Playrix in 2018.” We are talking about a Ukrainian studio located in Kiev.
Manor Matters is built on a classic Hiddenes structure. To move through the plot, the player must go through scenes with the search for objects. For them, the player is given stars. They are spent on the arrangement of the mansion and pieces of history.
Today there are three main players in the market of fritupley hiddenes: German Wooga, Swedish G5 Games and Yakut MyTona. Each of them has its own approach to the genre. Wooga, for example, is very strong in narrative. Playrix has also chosen its own approach. Judging by the first hours of the game, the meta of the project is taken from Gardenscapes and Homescapes.
The game has been in softlonch in Canada, Australia and the UK since September 2019. With what business metrics it entered the market, the publisher does not report.
