The western version of the Korean MMORPG Lost Ark has not yet been released, but it has already become a hit. Its release is scheduled for February 11, but yesterday the owners of special packs received early access to the game. After that, the online project instantly exceeded 500 thousand people.
According to SteamDB, just two and a half hours after the opening of early access, 532,476 Steam users were playing in Lost Ark at the same time. At the time of writing the news, the online title has decreased by half and amounted to 238,414 people.
Thanks to this hype, Lost Ark became the third in the list of the most popular games on Steam for a day. Yesterday, the daily online was higher only for CS:GO and Dota 2. In addition, the Korean MMORPG took the sixth place in the ranking of games with the largest peak online for all time of existence. Here in addition to CS:GO and Dota 2 were also ahead of PUBG, Cyberpunk 2077 and New World.
On Twitch, broadcasts on the English-language Lost Ark were watched no less actively. At its peak, the game attracted 1,273,119 viewers, becoming the first in terms of views.
But it was not without problems.
Developers have reported queues on some servers. How big the queues were is not noted. But in the comments to the tweet, users wrote that they had to wait for an hour and a half or more. However, the authors of Lost Ark pointed out that in each region there are servers without queues or with a short waiting time.
The popularity of Lost Ark led to failures on Steam as well. The PC Gamer edition drew attention to the fact that against the background of the title’s early access in the Valve store, download traffic increased sharply — the speed reached 45.6 Tbit/s. As a result, the players began to complain that they had to download the distribution for a long time.
Recall that the platinum pack for Lost Ark has been among the best-selling projects on Steam for two weeks in a row. It is paid and costs $14.99. At the same time, after the release, the game will be free for Western gamers, so it is likely that the online title will grow even stronger on Friday, February 11.
