Indie horror Phasmophobia, which conquered the Steam chart and was created by one person, has sold over 2 million copies. Due to the great popularity, the developer had to postpone the full release and focus on finalizing the project. The success of Phasmophobia was told by its creator Dknighter, the founder of Kinetic Games studio and its sole developer.

He admitted that he was not ready for increased attention to the project, because on the day of release he expected a maximum online of 500 people.

Now the peak number of simultaneous players in Phasmophobia has exceeded 110 thousand, and the game continues to occupy a leading position in the Steam chart.

Initially, I planned to take the game out of early access as soon as I added a few maps, ghost types and equipment. However, due to popularity, people’s expectations have increased, so I had to reconsider my plans for further development of the game,” Dknighter said in a conversation with IGN.

Now the developer wants to focus not on new content, but on fixing bugs and improving the stability of the game. Also, Dknighter has no plans to add a PvP mode to the game, because he wants the Phasmophobia formula to remain the same.
