Within the framework of the mobile gaming platform of the VKontakte social network, a new game has been released – “The Expendables” (aka Pocket Troops) from the Minsk studio Heyworks.
The novelty is difficult to attribute to any particular genre.
The meta part refers to classic tactical projects adjusted for free-to-play: the player buys fighters, pumps their skills, sends them to tasks.
As for the battles themselves, but here, rather, the game is closer to the butlers. Each mission is divided into several stages, in each of which the user’s squad faces a wave of opponents.
The fight proceeds in an automatic step-by-step mode: first the fighters of one side go, then the second. In each turn, one fighter can perform a limited number of actions: run closer and shoot, just shoot, reload the weapon.
During the mission between waves, the player can heal the fighters or deliver a strong blow to the next wave.
The game has just been released, so it’s difficult to talk about the first results. Let’s see if VKontakte traffic can bring the game to the top.
By the way, according to Alexey Yarmolik, CEO of Heyworks, the company plans to release soon: VIP subscription, weekly ladders, legendary skills and clans. In the meantime, the project is being played quite cheerfully without them.
