The MobyGames portal shared impressive figures: together with the developers of Naughty Dog, 14 more external studios worked on the continuation of the 2013 hit.
For example, only two studios were engaged in sound recording – one reduced the overall sound in the game, the second – the sound of weapons and battles. A total of 2,196 people worked on the game.
Outsourcing tasks is not uncommon in the gaming industry, and very often large teams gather to create games. But Naughty Dog managed to bypass many. By the way, only 800 people worked on the remake of Resident Evil 2, which became the record holder within the series in terms of the number of developers.
