Microsoft will release a mobile version of the Age of Empires strategy game this summer.

The free-duplex version of the popular RTS series will be released with the subtitle World Domination on iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms. The development is led by the Japanese studio KLabGames.

Judging by the trailer of the game, the strategists will receive four ancient nations: Celts, Vikings, Franks and Huns. Players will control not individual combat units, but squads with a single life bar and a hero at the head (more than 100 heroes are promised). You can also see the following thing: the buildings are a single “base” with a common safety margin displayed at the top of the screen. If you add to this the promised gesture control, then you can imagine a fairly comfortable, cheerful gameplay with notes of nostalgia.

By the way, a very intriguing detail is the presence of a competitive and cooperative game mode. We will see how efficient they will be very soon.

It will look like this.
