The Finnish team Almost Human is developing a mobile version of Legend of Grimrock, a nostalgic “bagel” that was very warmly welcomed by the press and PC players two years ago.
Almost Human is one of the real stars of indie development. They succeeded in what many independent developers dream of today. A team consisting of four people, natives of Remedy and Futuremark, they developed a game inspired by the titles of the late 80s – early 90s (Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder and Ultima Underworld) on their own engine and with their own savings. The project not only paid off, selling 600 thousand digital copies (Steam) in the first year, but was also caressed by positive reviews (on Metacritic it has 82 out of 100 points).
And now, within the walls of the company, in parallel with the development of the second part of Legend of Grimrock, the first part is being ported to iOS. As the developers write on the official project page, the game will not be a direct port. They promise to work hard to make it convenient to play the mobile version. And, judging by the first screenshot, it will be. It is unclear when exactly the project will be released on iOS. Developers get rid of the standard “when it’s ready”.
Recall that Legend of Grimrock is a classic gameplay bagel in the spirit of the Might & Magic series projects. The user plays on behalf of a group of adventurers traveling through the dark labyrinths of dungeons.
