On December 4, the official release of Icarus, a survival simulator developed by the studio of Dean Hall, author of DayZ, took place. The game immediately turned out to be the top seller in the weekly Steam chart.

According to the SteamDB service, within an hour after the release, over 31 thousand people were playing Icarus at the same time, and the next day the peak online project reached 52,501 users.

Now online gaming has declined. At the time of writing the news, it was 21,454 people.

Despite the hype, Icarus received mixed ratings from players — only 57% of reviews on Steam are positive. Basically, gamers scold poor optimization and raw monotonous gameplay. Nevertheless, many users are ready to give a second chance to the title after completion.

All the games that were included in the Steam bestseller chart the previous week have weakened their positions this time. For example, the previous leader of Farming Simulator 22 dropped to the third place in the ranking, and the second-ranked Battlefield 2042 now appeared on the sixth line.

Forza Horizon 5 moved from sixth to ninth place in the chart.

Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2, which were among the top ten best-selling games last week thanks to the fall sale, are still in the top. Cyberpunk 2077 moved from third to fourth place, and two editions of the game from Rockstar were placed in fifth and tenth places (before they occupied fourth and eighth places). At the same time, Horizon Zero Dawn and FIFA 22 left the rating.

A pre-order bundle from the deluxe edition of Destiny 2: The Witch Queen and a set for Bungie‘s thirtieth anniversary took seventh place on the Steam chart.

The eighth line went to the Halo Infinite story campaign, which is scheduled for release on December 8.
