Today, a full-fledged release of PUBG: New State took place on mobile platforms. It turned out to be problematic. Many players were unable to log into the game as a result of a server malfunction. There were also a lot of bugs in the project, some of which have already been recognized by the developers themselves.
Briefly about the game
PUBG: New State is a new futuristic battle royale for iOS and Android. Unlike PUBG: Mobile, it was not developed by Tencent, but by the authors of the original game — PUBG Studios.
The sequel to PUBG and PUBG: Mobile was announced in February and in just a week gained 5 million pre-registrations on Google Play alone. By September, their number exceeded 50 million on iOS and Android.
The action of the new battle royale will unfold in 2051 on the new big TROI map. Gameplay innovations include the ability to use drones, shields and other equipment of the future, as well as revive dead team members. PUBG Studios also promised to add interactive objects and destructible elements like windows and doors to the map.
How was the launch?
The release of PUBG: New State was supposed to take place on November 11 at 7:00 Moscow time. However, due to problems with the servers, the developers had to postpone the launch for two hours.
During this time, the problem could not be solved. Many players simply could not log in. The developers explained this with a large influx of users and promised to solve the problem soon.
📢Due to a large inflow of users in a short time period, some users may be temporarily experiencing log-in issues. We are looking into resolving this issue swiftly. Thank you for your patience.

However, a few days later, some of the players still saw the inscription: “Failed to connect to the server.”

I don’t understand where good reviews and screenshots from the game come from if the whole gameplay consists of this #PUBGNEWSTATE pic.twitter.com/CB55Dn2kJM

A lot of players complain about regular crashes and freezes. The problem is observed by owners of both Android and iOS devices.

Some of the messages are related to numerous bugs — both visual and gameplay. They are also recognized by the developers themselves, who have published a list of the most common problems on the game’s website. “We are working on their solution and apologize for the inconvenience,” the message says.
PUBG Studios also announced on the day of release that it had to change the PUBG: New State age rating in the App Store. Currently, only users over the age of 17 can play it, although a rating of 12+ was in effect during the collection of pre-registrations. The developers did not explain the reason and only stressed that it happened “because of a situation beyond our control.”
It’s too early to talk about the first results and metrics of PUBG: New State. Despite numerous difficulties, the studio has already posted the schedule of the first in-game events and announced plans for long-term support of the project.
