Three days ago, on January 14, God of War was officially released on PC. The game immediately climbed to the top of the weekly Steam bestseller chart, shifting Ready or Not. The shooter stayed in first place for three weeks in a row.

According to the SteamDB service, within an hour after the release, 26,978 Steam users were playing God of War at the same time (on PC, the former PlayStation exclusive is also available in the Epic Games Store, but there is no online data there). By the evening of the first day, the online title had grown to 49,411 people, but it reached its maximum mark on January 16 — 73,529 people played God of War on Steam last night.

For comparison, the peak online of other PlayStation Studios games on Steam is much lower. Horizon: Zero Dawn has 56,557 people, and Days Gone has 27,450 people.

The PC version of God of War was received quite warmly. Critics rated it 93 out of 100, and gamers rated it 9 out of 10 (Metacritic). If we talk specifically about Steam, then here the title received 97% positive feedback from players.

The second and third places in the Steam bestseller chart went to another fresh release on PC — Monster Hunter Rise. The title was released on the Nintendo Switch in March 2021, but it reached Steam only on January 12, 2022. At the time of writing the news, its peak online was 134,262 people.

In fourth place is the former leader of the Ready or Not chart. The fifth place was taken by the pre-order of Enden Ring, which was previously on the seventh line.

Project Zomboid moved from fourth to seventh place. Also during the week, the positions weakened at It Takes Two (the game went from second to ninth place) and at Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach (it fell to the tenth line).

Dying Light 2: Stay Human, which is scheduled for release on February 4, entered the bestseller chart of the week. Zombie action from Techland took the eighth place.
